Syndicat T.I.C.E

History

History

The TICE was created in 1914 under the name “Syndicate of Intercommunal Tramways of the Canton of Esch-sur-Alzette” to operate a tramway network, the Minettstram. Delayed by the First World War, it was not until 1927 that it came into existence. From 1948 onwards, TICE operates a bus network that definitively supersedes the tramway in 1956.

The Syndicate for Intercommunal Transport of Persons in the Canton of Esch-sur-Alzette includes nine municipalities in the mining basin, mostly located in the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette: Dudelange, Differdange, Esch-sur-Alzette, Käerjeng (including Bascharage, initially a member through fusion), Kayl, Pétange, Rumelange, Sanem, and Schifflange.
